There are many children in Uganda who have NEVER owned a pair of shoes that fit. Without shoes people are susceptible to infection and injury. Through our No More Bare Feet program we're providing children and families with new or gently used shoes that fit. Many children are receiving shoes for the very first time.
In Uganda, schooling is not free. Many families have had to forgo the cost of education for their children in order to provide for their basic survival needs. We're helping children to break free from the vicious cycle of poverty by covering their tuition costs, study materials, uniforms, and backpack supplies.
We're helping empower women to overcome poverty by teaching them how to profit through the sale of homemade soaps. Our upcoming training center will provide women with the opportunity to learn, create, and achieve financial independence.
We're fighting hunger and malnutrition through our feeding program.
For the orphans, widowed, elderly and disabled, we provide relief through financial support and compassionate care.
Each year, Gateway 2 Missions holds a charity medical clinic for those who cannot afford healthcare costs. In 2018, we provided 1,000 villagers in Uganda with healthcare checkups, testing for Malaria, counseling for HIV/AIDS, and treatment for various illnesses and infections. We also provided villagers with personal hygiene items and handed out 600 mosquito nets to help prevent malaria.
